The Road

No one knows exactly what vision Cormac McCarthy had, standing at the window of his hotel room in El Paso, Texas, in the middle of the night, but the burning mountains in his imagination and the quiet breathing of his four-year-old son sleeping in the same room inspired the Pulitzer Prize-winning book "The Road". In this book, everything is dead, everything is silent and frozen. There is no longer order, law, morality and no limits, because there is no one left who cannot be asked to step over it. The remnants of humanity are recalling primal instincts from time immemorial and yearning for survival just as long-extinct insects yearn for the fading light. ...But it is on this path that a man and a boy, a father and a son, a man and an angel will walk, and it is on this path that the greatest story of a parent's unconditional, irrevocable, sometimes immature and instinctive love for a child is written.
