Brand History

In the family of Dakishvili, knowledge and experience were collected with wine glasses and passed on to children and grandchildren. The family originates from the Pankisi valley, where their ancestors started growing and growing grapes more than 100 years ago. Dean Simon Dakishvili started growing the rare grape variety Kist. Unfortunately, he fell victim to Red Army repression and was found dead in 1929. The son of priest Simon - Giorgi Dakishvili Sr. could not continue the family tradition of winemaking. He died on the battlefield of World War II at the age of 27. The family did not give up wine production and continued to work in the field of wine-growing even after his death. Giorgi Dakishvili's son - Temur Dakishvili Sr. graduated from the faculty of winemaking in St. in Moscow, one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in the Soviet Union. From 1960 to 1996, he worked as the chief winemaker of the Teliani winery. In the Teliani winery, red branded wines were used in the highest quality oak barrels. Gogi Dakishvili also continued the tradition of his father and ancestors, received a proper education, together with his wife Ilona Dakishvili. Gogi and Ilona Dakishvili graduated from St. Faculty of Oenology and Viticulture of Odessa Academy of Food Industry.
