The essence of the game is to create two main knights who will defend the land from the invading barbarians, and they are also tasked with improving the city, which benefits the owner of this city. The game becomes more tactical and difficult, and the duration of the game also increases.

Game rules:

First, there are 3 new goods in the game that are different from resources - paper, cloth and coins, which are obtained from the forest, meadow and mountain, respectively. Cities, which usually produce two of the same resources, now produce one resource and one corresponding good. (To make goods easier to obtain, each player starts the game with 1 city and 1 settlement on the board.) These goods allow players to build a city and improve it. This card will give you different advantages and ultimately points.

Second, the deck of development cards is replaced by three different decks, each of which corresponds to one of the goods. City Improvement allows players to draw these cards each time they roll a dice. Improving and building a city further increases these chances, but the cards cannot be purchased directly. These cards are similar to the development cards in the main game, but with a wider range of effects.

Finally, players can also place knights on the island, along the road network. These knights can be used to repel raids and move robbers (instead of soldier cards), but are also used to defend the island from periodic barbarian attacks. If the island is successfully defended, the player(s) with the most knights are rewarded. If not, the player(s) with the fewest knights are demoted to a settlement in each city.
