In COUP, the government is wrapped in corrupt schemes, and the population is on the verge of poverty, because of this, the desire for revolution is growing in the society. One part of the population sees a bright future in the revolution, while the other sees an opportunity to seize absolute power. You will have to face your opponents to gain power. You must overthrow their power and drive them out of the country. In COUP, your goal is to eliminate all opponents and stay in the game until you are the only player left. At the beginning, each player receives 2 coins and 2 character cards, the identity of which only he can see. Undealt cards and coins are placed in the middle of the table. There are 5 different characters in the game that give you different special abilities. Be convincing when tricking your opponents, otherwise you will be asked to confirm with an action card and lose one or, in extreme cases, both characters. There are two instances in Coup where a player loses both characters in one action and is immediately out of the game. 1) One player kills another with an Assassin, and the recipient of the kill requests confirmation of the Assassin's action with an Assassin card, at which point the opponent reveals the Assassin card. At this point the player loses 2 characters – one by killing the Assassin and the other by confirming the card. 2) One player kills another with an Assassin's kill, and the recipient of the kill lies about having a Contessa and blocks the kill, and the opponent demands to show the Contessa card. At this point the player loses 2 characters – one by killing the Assassin and the other by failing to present the Contessa card. If a player loses a character due to a Coup or other action, he must choose one of the characters to place the coup in front of him. If both characters are lost, the player is out of the game.
