The Thames & Kosmos engineering set will introduce children to five different fields of engineering with 21 experiments. By engaging in hands-on activities, children will learn how engineers use their scientific and technical knowledge to create machines and devices.
Start by learning basic engineering fundamentals by experimenting with levers and wheels. Build simple devices using these basic components. Move on to explore land engineering by building wheeled vehicles: racing car, wind car. Then, explore engineering in the air by building a helicopter, parachute, glider, air-powered carousel. Build a diving bell, a sailboat for water engineering experiments. Finally, do some engineering at home by experimenting with telephone and television modeling.
The kit comes with 48 pages of instructions that teach kids the basics of engineering through hands-on experiments.
