Description

Yellow Spot is an Irish single malt whiskey with a beautiful, rich amber color. Its taste is initially spicy, with a hint of vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg, a little later it acquires a sweet taste with honey and milk chocolate, and at the end there are light notes of dry grass, lemon peel and bitter orange. The texture is soft and buttery, and the finish has notes of fresh malt and ground black pepper. The aroma is rich, complex and sweet, with hints of honey, vanilla and barley malt, complemented by grassy grass, fresh oak sawdust and a light hint of cinnamon. It is recommended to enjoy whiskey neat, as well as with cigars, fruit and as a digestif. The ideal temperature for drinking is 16-18°C.

Brand History

The Mitchell & Sons company created several Single Pot Still Irish Whiskeys, the production of which was discontinued a long time ago, but in 2012, the joint efforts of the Irish Distillers Group and Mitchells managed to recreate another whiskey brand from the company's old "colored" range. This is a 12-year aging "yellow spot" (Yellow Spot 12 YO Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey) or "yellow mark". Its production was stopped at the beginning of the 60s of the last century. According to surviving archival documents, in addition to traditional Irish and Scottish bourbon casks and dry Oloroso sherry, this whiskey was also aged in sweet fortified wine casks - Italian Marsala or Spanish Malaga. Fortunately, there was whiskey in Malaga casks in the warehouses of the Middleton distillery.
