Lecithin is an indispensable phospholipid involved in the synthesis of acetylcholine (a neurotransmitter), a natural source of choline and linoleic acid. Linoleic acid is an essential fatty acid that cannot be produced by the body and therefore must be taken as a dietary supplement.
