Description

Singleton is a single malt Scotch whiskey aged for 12 years in American and European oak barrels. It has a rich, clean aroma with oak, toasted hazelnut, apple, black sugar, citrus, pear elements and warm, dry nuances. On the palate, you will initially feel sweet, warm, fruity and nutty notes, followed by hints of blackcurrant and espresso. With water, the texture of whiskey becomes more pleasant. The sweetness is perfectly balanced with the sour taste. Finally, the scotch leaves an elegant, warm, long aftertaste. The drink goes well with red meat.

Brand History

Dufftown is the largest distillery in the world, producing more than 4 million liters of liquor per year. The distillery was founded in 1896 by Peter Mackenzie with Richard Stackpole and John Simon, he bought the company from the partners soon after in 1898 and moved to Edinburgh, changing the company's name to the Mackenzie Distillery. The distillery flourished, capturing the US market, but due to restrictions it soon suffered a devastating blow. Mackenzie's son sold Dufftown to Arthur Bell in 1933. After 1941-1947, the company successfully restored production.
