Sailor Jerry rum brand was named after the name of the legendary American tattoo artist - Norman Keith Collins. Collins was not named a sailor by chance, since the age of 19 he served in the Navy and it was here that he got acquainted with the art of tattooing in Southeast Asia. After retirement, he decided to start his own business and opened a tattoo parlor in Honolulu. His first clients were sailors, and Norman Collins' work soon gained recognition. After that, Jerry became a kind of brand, style and symbol for a new stage in the development of American culture. It was the sailor's works that inspired the creation of the legendary Rum. Since its inception, the brand has been run by tattoo artists Ed Hardy and Mike Malone, who were personally licensed by Jerry Sailor to use his name and artwork.
