Peat is a mass of plant and animal organisms that has undergone partial decomposition under conditions of excess moisture, in an anaerobic (anaerobic) state.

Due to its properties, it is one of the most used products in the field of plant care.
It allows the plant substrate to have good aeration and drainage, has the ability to absorb enough moisture and nutrients.

One of its best features is its sterility. Free of bacteria, fungi, harmful chemicals and weed seeds. This makes it perfect for seedlings that are quite vulnerable to the environment.

Peat can absorb and retain water very well. This creates an excellent environment for seed germination and subsequent plant stages when mixed with other growing materials.

Most peat has a pH between 3.5 and 6, depending on the source of the peat. This increases the buffering capacity of the soil, preventing leaching of fertilizer nutrients. Ideal for a wide range of acid-loving plants such as strawberries and blueberries.
