Brand History

Tadeoz Guramishvili's wine cellar was built at the beginning of the 19th century. Tadeozi was the cousin of the last Georgian queen - Mariam Tsitsishvili and one of the richest landlords in Georgia. Guramishvili wine cellar is a unique building from the architectural and artistic point of view. It was recognized as a monument of Georgian architecture. The wine cellar was built in the classical style characteristic of the beginning of the 19th century. Later in 1863, saint Ilia Chavchavadze married Tadeoz Guramishvili's daughter Olga, who inherited the winery. The communists turned this area into a garbage dump, however, the society restored the historical cellar of Tadeoz Guramishvili and organized a solemn opening ceremony. The winery, once owned by Ilia Chavchavadze and leased for 49 years by the traditional winemaking state of Kakheti, allows for the restoration and further development of ancient Georgian grape varieties. Rare and extinct grape varieties such as "Danachari", "Buza", "Shavkapito", "Khikhvi", "Kisi", "Goruli Vzneno" were mainly grown here, which Ilya used to make wine.
