Sebastian Zaprizo is a pseudonym. Jean-Baptiste Ross was born in 1931 in Marseille. He started writing at the age of 17, and his book "Bad Beginning" was published almost simultaneously in France and the United States. At the age of 22, he was the first to translate Salinger's Catcher in the Rye into French, no more and no less. At the same time, he worked in an advertising agency. The turning point occurred in 1962, when the book "The Coupe Murders" was published. Ross was not sure of success, so he published the book under a pseudonym, an anagram of his name - Zaprizot. The result exceeded all expectations. Costa-Gavras also made a film based on "The Coupe Murders". This was followed by several books - screened by the best directors, with the participation of the best actors. Especially successful was the "Killer Summer", where Isabelle Adjani played the main role. The film won several Césars and was even nominated for the Palme d'Or. Like all of Japrizo's books, "Killer Summer" can be read in one breath, it is saturated with elements of film noir, and it also has a completely unexpected ending. However, the plot of "The Killing Summer" is still different from the plots of other novels by Zaprizot. It may remind you of ancient tragedy, maybe Dostoyevsky...
