Kikkerland was founded in New York in the late 1980s, according to the project of the Dutch designer - Jan van der Lande.
Today, the brand is so popular in the world that its such a short history is hard to believe. Kikkerland produces carefully designed small items for stationery anywhere in the world if you come across them in gift shops.
A number of well-known designers work on Kikkerland items with the company's 15-person team, who create and develop new products every day.
Kikkerland Design expands the largest collection of unique items. Each product is a balance of form, functionality and aesthetics. It should be noted that Kikkerland is represented in 20 categories and all of them are successfully sold in different countries of the world.
Kikkerland founder Jan van der Lande tells us how he moved his Dutch brand from bicycle supply to global import.
Jan van der Lande started selling larks and lamps in the late 1980s with his designer friends. To deliver products to customers, he himself rode his bicycle through the streets.
At first, van der Lande worked on things in his houseboat on the Hudson River. And then, along with the expansion of the business, he acquired new employees and opened a real office. Little by little, with the help of friends, he established contact with many creative designers in different cities around the world and opened Kikkerland branches in many countries. Today, Kikkerland produces about 300 products a year, and each one is created with amazing creativity.
Van der Lande still lives on his boat and cycles to Kikkerland's Manhattan office every day, just like a true Dutchman.
