Marina Aleksidze compiled the collection, translated the texts from Persian, added an introductory letter and comments. It is also interesting for researchers of the new history of Georgia, since the topic of Georgia occupies a certain place in this literature. The present book is an attempt to create as complete a collection as possible of translations of episodes related to Georgia in Persian travel and memoir literature of the mentioned period. 63 essays, which are more or less related to Georgia or Georgians, have been studied and relevant parts have been translated. Five of these works are written by Central Asian Persian-speaking authors, so they are included in the book as an appendix. In the second appendix, the translations of poems dedicated to Georgia by Persian-speaking poets of the Qajar period were combined.
