Description

The legendary Scottish liqueur Drambuie, the recipe of which is known since 1746, is produced on the basis of grain and malt whiskey from the Highland and Speyside regions, which is aged for up to 17 years. In its aroma, notes of malt, anise and juniper are felt, and the taste is accompanied by honey and spicy spices. Liqueur can be drunk directly with ice, but it also goes well with cocktails.

Brand History

In 1746, after the Battle of Culloden, Prince Charles Edward Stuart fled to the Isle of Skye. There he was presented with an altar by Captain John MacKinnon of Clan MacKinnon. According to family legend, after spending time with the captain, the prince rewarded him with a recipe for a precious drink. Legend has it that the recipe, which didn't have a well-known name at the time, was given to John Ross by the Clan McKinnon in the late 19th century. James Ross, his son and a local businessman, ran the Broadford Hotel in Broadford on the Isle of Skye and it was he who began experimenting with the recipe at the hotel in 1879 after John's death.
