Chandon Extra Brut is made from a classic blend of three Serra Gacha varieties: Riesling Italico, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It is characterized by a delicate yellow color with golden reflections, an abundant and persistent foam forming a necklace around the contour of the bowl and a perlage of fine, active and numerous bubbles. The aroma has floral (white flowers) and fruity (citrus, apple and hints of pineapple) characteristics with a hint of fresh bread. On the palate, it begins with a sincere attack of balanced acidity, continues with a distinct sensation of sweetness and freshness; and ends with nutty and medium-bodied citrus notes. It can be used as an aperitif and goes well with any meal.

Brand History

The history of Moet Chandon began in 1743, when Claude Moet began delivering sparkling wine from the Champagne region to Paris and other French cities. The reign of Louis XV coincided with an increase in demand for sparkling wine, so Claude's business expanded rapidly, and by the end of the 18th century he was exporting champagne throughout Europe and even to the United States. Claude's grandson, Jean-Remy Moet, attracted the attention of such elite clients as Thomas Jefferson and Napoleon Bonaparte.
