Brancott Estate Marlborough Pinot Noir is an unusually bright and rich wine made from grapes grown in the unique terroir of the Marlborough region of New Zealand. Grapes are grown in vineyards in the southern part of the Wairau Valley. The collection starts in mid-March and ends in mid-April. The fresh fruit taste of the wine is largely determined by the special technology of the wine. One of the main features of vinification is the extremely thorough and gentle pressing of the fruit to obtain clear juice for fermentation, which takes place at low temperatures in steel tanks.
The history of Brancott Estate Winery dates back to 1934, when the Yugoslav immigrant Ivan Jukic, who settled in New Zealand, planted a small vineyard near the city of Auckland. In 1944, the first wines were released, and in 1973, the Montana company (as the Brancott Winery was originally called) began to develop the South Island. The Marlborough region, which later became the winemaking center of New Zealand, is located here - on the northeastern tip of the South Island. Its uniqueness is primarily due to special climatic conditions: the wide valley through which the Wairau River flows is protected from bad weather by the Richmond Mountains in the northwest and supported by small hills in the southeast. In addition, the alternation of bright sunny days and cool dry nights is favorable for winemaking. Gives natural acidity to regional wines. Based on location, the Marlborough region is dominated by three types of soils: young rocky soils in the north, medium-aged soils in the southern Awatere Valley, and mature soils with a high clay content on the southern side of the Wairau Valley.
