Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails is a version of Ticket to Ride that is much more complex, as it uses train and ship mechanisms. The game includes train and ship tokens that allow players to create routes on both land and water.

Game Rules:

Players are dealt tickets showing two cities. They must collect the colored cards needed to build a route between these cities. At the start of the game, train and ship cards are placed in separate decks. Players use both train cards and ship cards to build their routes. Train routes are covered by train tokens, while ship routes are covered by ship tokens. Players choose which card type (train or ship) they will use in their route. They can swap train tokens with ship tokens or vice versa, but this will cost them minus points for each swapped token. Players score points when their routes connect cities on their tickets. If they successfully connect the indicated cities, they are awarded points. If the route is not completed and the cities are not connected, they lose points. When one of the players is left with six or fewer tokens, all players are given two additional turns, and then the game ends. At the end of the game, players score points based on their tickets if their route is complete and the cities are connected.
