Brand History

According to the legend, there is an ancient fortress in the village of Askana, which was called "Askanian Castle" due to its great age and outstanding durability. The foundations of the name of Askaneli can be found in the myth and history of the fighting nature of Georgians. Anthimoz Chkhaidze is the person whose name is associated with laying the foundation for the winemaking tradition of Askani. He built a cellar at the end of the nineteenth century, where he made exceptionally clean and aromatic wine from different varieties of grapes. One of the varieties preserved by the Chkhaidze family is the famous Chkhaveri. They say that the surname of Chkhaidze comes from this name. For the people behind the brand, these stories are a source of pride and great responsibility. Today, the company produces more than 60 types of wines, as well as brandy, sparkling wine and chacha. It has factories in three regions - Kakheti, Guria and Tbilisi.
