Angostura 1919 is a multi-award winning blended rum that celebrates a special date in the development of the rum industry in the Caribbean in 1919. After a fire destroyed Fernandez's distillery in 1932, the master blender acquired carbon barrels and discovered they were filled with the liquor bottled in 1919. This rum was mixed and the resulting drink was called 1919 rum. The drink has a pleasant aroma of caramel, spicy spices, chocolate, toffee and sweet vanilla. The taste of rum is juicy and tender, with notes of fruit and coconut.

Brand History

The history of Angostura begins 200 years ago. In 1824, Johann Gottlieb Benjamin Siegerty, a military doctor in Simón Bolívar's army, decided to produce medicinal, aromatic drinks based on secret ingredients. It took years to create the recipe, but the result turned out to be excellent, the drink proved to be effective against stomach aches and effectively coped with indigestion. Over time, Angostura-flavored bitters acquired a different purpose and became almost everyone's favorite drink. Today, the brand's rum and bitters are represented in 140 countries and have won many awards.
