Description
Amaro Averna is one of the most famous Italian liqueurs, which is made in the Sicilian region in particular. The aroma of the drink is saturated with notes of herbs, spices and citrus zest, and the taste is bitter, sour and full. Brand History
Liqueur is produced by Fratelli Averna, whose history dates back to 1802 - that's when Salvatore Averna was born into a family of wealthy textile merchants. He was one of those who managed to find out the secret recipe of the monastic drink, which has a unique taste, as well as healing and tonic properties. In 1868, Salvatore started making the drink and served them only to guests, and by 1895, thanks to Averno's son, Salvatore Jr., the Sicilian liqueur became widely known around the world. In 2014, the company was acquired by Campari Group. The Davide Campari-Milano SpA group is one of the world's leading beverage manufacturers, present in more than 190 countries and occupying a leading position in Europe and America. Founded in 1860, the group is today the sixth largest player in the premium spirits market. The company's product line includes more than 50 brands.
