Artem Chekh (aka Artem Cherednik) was born on June 13, 1985 in Cherkasy, Ukraine. After graduating from school, he moved to Kyiv, where he began to study sociology. The 22-year-old wrote the book "What you won't find in Yandex", for which he won the national award for the best urban youth novel. This was followed by other successful publications and the award named after Nikolai Gogol. In 2015-2016, Chekh fought as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the annexation of Russia, and in February 2022, with the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war, he again took up arms and went to the front.
