As with the Aberlour whiskey core, this 12-year single malt has been aged in two types of casks - oak and sherry - adding depth of character along with balanced notes of fruit and spice. The aroma is saturated with elements of cherry, chocolate and vanilla, and the sweet taste is balanced by a slight bitterness towards the end.

Brand History

Aberlour Distillery was founded in 1879 by James Fleming and today it produces one of the best Scotch whiskeys in the world. The distillery is located in Scotland, in the village of Aberlow near the River Spey. The company's distillers and blenders have a combined 120 years of experience. It is this depth of experience and their unwavering vision that provides the distinctive, superior quality for which Aberlow is renowned. Their whiskey comes in 10, 12, 15, 16, 18 and the rare 30-year aging. Most of the variants are aged in American ex-bourbon barrels. Aberlow also produces malts that, after aging in bourbon casks, are finished in casks that were used to age wine or sherry varieties.
