Brand History

The winery Abbazia di San Gaudenzio, founded in 1848, is located in Santo Stefano Belbo - a small town between Monferrato, Roero and Lanhe, in the heart of the Piedmont region. The name "Abbazia" ("Abbot") comes from the ancient Benedictine monastery, which was built here in the twelfth century. Today the winery is run by the fourth generation of the Santero family - Mario Santero and his sons. Modernization of the company allowed it to meet the requirements of the wine market. According to the winery owners, production technology and traditions are important, but so is the land on which the grapes are grown. The vineyards are located in the mountains of Piedmont and have ideal conditions for growing grapes. The variety of varieties allows the company to produce a wide range of wines, which are now exported to more than 50 countries around the world. All production processes comply with BRC, IFS, ISO certificates and are controlled by the Asti Consortium, which guarantees the high quality of the wine.
