Description

Wine is not just a drink with its distinctive color, smell, or aroma, it is a year-round "saga of continuous relationship between man and nature", with its sorrows and joys. He tells the story himself: how he was treated, who he is, and/or what his owner is like. That's why, wine lovers, while tasting it, reflect on this relationship in your mind for a second and enjoy our natural Georgian wine.

Brand History

"Patara Marani" is a family-type cellar. Back in 2002, in the grant competition announced by the World Bank, the family submitted a project that provided for the study of grape varieties, vineyards, and farm wines throughout Georgia. The goal is to grow the vineyards of the farming peasants. There was support in the arrangement of the farm and the sale of wines in order to preserve the unique Georgian varieties preserved here and there and to encourage the revival of the centuries-old tradition of wine making; For the first time, it was within the framework of the project of the owner of "Patara Marani," a female winemaker named Thea Sturua, that laboratory testing of farmers, vineyards, and wines took place, and the wines of these farmers were first bottled in Georgia, labeled, and prepared for sale. In 2003, the project ended with the first "Georgian Wine Festival" in Georgia, which was organized by the spouses and family members of the "Patara Marani" wine producers. In 2006, obsessed with the care of the vineyard and the desire to make wine, they bought the first vineyard, and everything started from there. Today, "Patara Marani" owns 6 1-ton kvevri, Saperavi, and Rkatsiteli vineyards in Akhoevi in Kardenakh and Rkatsiteli vineyards in Tsrapaf (total: 1.25ha); all members of the family are involved in the process of vine and wine care. They aim to make natural wine using the old Georgian traditional method, which is why the vineyards are cared for organically. The wine is produced in the producer's own vineyard. Herbicides, pesticides, systemic preparations, and mineral food additives are not used in viticulture. The spaces between the rows are cordoned off, and the vineyard is not irrigated. Sulfur, artificial temperature changes, and filtration are not used in the wine production process. The wine is made according to the old Georgian traditional method, with a delay of at least 6 months on chacha in kvevri. "Patara Marani" produces only two types of wine using the traditional Kakhuri method: Saperava and Rkatsiteli. It is a member of the Organic/Natural Wine Association and a member of the Biological Farming Association, "Elkana.".
