Description

Armazul tavkveri is made from specially selected grapes of the highest quality, during the growing of which only contact protective means are used. The crop was harvested in October 2018 in Shida Kartli, Lamiskana village. The wine is fermented in a vat, using the ancient traditional method, with 6 months of contact with chacha. Tavkveri 2018 is unfiltered, so it may have sediment. Contains a small amount of sulfur, which is naturally obtained from the soil.

Brand History

Archaeological excavations in Armazi, near the confluence of Armaziskhevi and Mtkvari rivers, conducted in 1937-46 revealed the resting place of noblemen (Pityakhshti) of the Kartli Kingdom of the II-III centuries. revealed. The sarcophagi and tile tombs found here contained the richest treasure. Among them is a silver cup with the image of the goddess of abundance, holding a sheaf filled with various fruits and mostly bunches of grapes, which indicates the existence of the wine cult and the developed viticulture in Armaz and in the Kartli kingdom in general. A cellar with pitchers was discovered here, which proves that pitcher wine was produced there. The presence of a strong cult of wine is also indicated by the fact that, in addition to sarcophagi and tile tombs, the dead were buried in pitchers in Armaz.
