As a result, with the commercial operation of the BTX plant and naphtha reformer in April 1991, the basis for business diversification into petrochemicals was created. Also, in December 1997, the construction of the Xylene Center was completed on the existing territory of the factory, which produces 700,000 tons of para-xylene (currently 740,000 tons), as a result of which the company officially entered the field of petrochemicals. In particular, this plant not only reduced the investment cost per unit, but also ensured the creation of a petrochemical product of the BTX process, which was Para-Xylene, which has a high competitiveness in terms of material charge.
