Telavi Old Cellar - Archil’s Wine- Rkatsiteli 2019 - Handmade Amber dry wine, vintage of 2019 from old vineyard, that is cultivated in the 1970. The wine is produced by a wine-maker and viticulturist Archil Utiashvili, in Kakheti region, village Kurdghelauri, by a high quality, biologically and ecologically clean Rkatsiteli grapes that is grown in Tsinandali micro-zone, according to the modern and ancient Georgian traditional technologies, which provides full participation of garpe’s stalk and marc in alcoholic fermentation. Aged in French oak barrels. It is pour out only 2350 bottles.

Brand History

I am Archili Utiashvili, a viticulturist, winemaker, and the founder of LTD Telavi Old Cellar, which I founded in 2011. My Goal is to produce high-quality wine. For producing wine, I use grapes that are raped in my own vineyard. In the year 2010, I bought a vineyard of Rkatsiteli and Saperav, cultivated in 1970 in Kakheti, Tsinandali micro-zone, Telavi, village Kurdghelauri, 510m above the sea level. The soil was not saturated with chemicals, the only thing I had to deal with was incorrectly formed weak vines. Lots of people advised me to uproot the old and weak vineyard because of its unprofitability, and to cultivate a new vineyard. These crooked vines were precious and important to me, as an old man with a great life experience, so I decided to keep them. Step by step Improvement of the vineyard took years and hard work. As a result, the vineyard gave me the best wine, and this way the old vine conveyed its gratitude to me. As a sign of respect, this old wine is depicted on the labels of different wine bottles under the brand Archil’s Wine.
